Reds Lose 2nd to Rockies
Reds 5 Rockies 7
Mike Lansings's run-scoring single
snapped a seventh-inning tie and Todd Helton added a
two-run single later in the same inning as the Rockies
salvaged the finale of a three-game series with the Reds,
7-5. Masato Yoshii provided Colorado with a quality start, allowing three runs and six hits over six innings. He walked two, struck out three and helped his cause with a two-run single in the fourth. Jose Jiminez(2-0) picked up the win despite allowing a run in the seventh and Stan Belinda tossed a hitless eighth. After David Lee and Mike Meyers were ineffective in the ninth, Julian Tavarez recorded the final two outs for his first save. Cincinnati starter Pete Harnisch was tagged for four runs and five hits over six innings but Dennys Reyes(0-1) took the loss after allowing the three runs in the seventh. |
