Ian Wright began his career at Greenwich Borough. He joined Crystal Palace on free transfer in 1985, and scored 118 goals in 277 games. Wright scored 2 goals in 1988 in a play-off game against Blackburn Rovers and managed to promote his team into first division. After Wright raised Palace to third in the first division the following season, Arsenal decided that Ian Wright was the man they were looking for. He moved to Arsenal for £2.5 million where he has been a consistent goal scorer. Ian Wright has earned a spot in Glenn Hoddle's English squad and will be looking foward to a chance at the world cup in france next year. He also looks posed to break Cliff Bastin's most goals with Arsenal record very soon.
