This Birds
is probably Ivans pick of the stockloft.Ivan
calls him "The Old boy". We aquired him
at a sale and he has bred us many performance
birds. He is reference D from Ross Wickham. |
Our favourite strain is the
Wickham.Ivan had them when he was young so when
we started racing pigeons the first strain we had
to hunt was the Wickham.
The
photos below are some of our favorite Wickham
hens. Note the feathers on the legs this is a
Wickham trait.

|

The photo above is the "Old boys
son".
When we moved to Melton from
Ballarat this bird got out of the Stockloft and
flew back to Ballarat with a number of other
birds we flew in Ballarat a distance of about 70
KM in 37 Degrees heat. We must also add that
these birds were locked down for a Month without
flying before our move.
|

The bird above is also a Wickham.
Amanda calls them the Helicopter Wickhams, the
reason for this is that when they come home from
a race they hover above the loft like a
Helicopter before landing and trapping.

Schoormans & DeWeerts
|

This is one of our Schoormans
hens, a strain created by a well known flyer in
the VHA Theo Schoormans who raced in the same
club as Ivan when he was 16 years old. It is bred
down from his famous FED bird "The
Frill" it has produced some great performers
for us.

|

The Birds above are a new
addition to our lofts "DeWeerts"
aquired from The sale of Les Caracella of the
Diamond valley club VHA who was an extremelly
successful flyer.2001 will be the first year that
we will be trying these birds. They are said to
be so tough that they will fly thorugh a brick
Wall.
