Burned in 1971 at West Sound, Orcas Island, Washington,
offshore of the Kaiser family estate.
Remains are still said to be in shallow water.

Edgar Kaiser retained Anchor Jensen to re-build the Hawaii Kai III after the 1956 racing season. In Edgar's words "the thing's a dog!"
Jensen found that the Kai was overweight, by about 2,000 pounds, as oppossed to the Slo-mo-shun IV, which weighed 4800 pounds,
fully gassed and oiled. The craft was so heavy that it actually stuck to the water and used an enormous amount of power just to stay
up on plane. Jensen managed to get 20 more miles-per-hour out of it just by turning the screws on the sponsons so that they
would areate the water that flowed around the sponsons. Kaiser wanted a winning boat and Jensen was given Carte-Blanche
to see what he could do.

Kaiser allowed the former Slo-mo-shun  crew to race "The Pink Lady" for the 1958 APBA Challenge Gold Cup, in Seattle.
That was its only race that year! And it won!

Boat was leased to Joe Mascari for the 1959-1960 seasons, and then to George Simon for the 1963 season. It "holed" a sponson at the
Detroit Gold Cup with Don Wilson driving, the boat was then retired to the Kaiser Family for use as a pleasure craft! Eventually,
it became a liabilty and was given a Viking Funeral by the Kaiser Family.
