Our Mission

The Canadian Electric Wheelchair Hockey Association provides a competitive form of wheelchair hockey to individuals with physical disabilities across Canada.

Our Goal

...is to provide opportunities for players to develop hockey skills in accordance with their ability. While recognizing the person's disability, we prefer to concentrate on their ability. Hockey is a big part of growing up in Canadian society. Why should it be any different if you are in a wheelchair? The Canadian Electric Wheelchair Hockey Association was formed so that people with physical disabilities could play this great national sport.

The Game

...consists of 2 teams of 5 players aged 10 years and older playing in electric wheelchairs. We play in a gymnasium and the season is from October to May. Game sticks are plastic field hockey sticks which can be held or tied to the wheelchair. The puck is a lightweight plastic ball. Games are held every Friday night from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Ashley Oaks Public School, Ashley Crescent, London. Come out and see the game for yourself, the fastest growing sport around!
