Please giveTraining camps are just around the corner and it couldn't come at a better time. It's been quiet since the completion of the draft and my activity matched the lull. There's a lot of questions as we approach the beginning of camps, especially at the quarterback position as some productive passers try to bounce back from injury. Will Daunte Culpepper be ready for the season opener? The word has been good from minicamp. Let's see if his momentum keeps rolling. Who I haven't heard much from is Drew Brees, New Orleans' new franchise QB. Is his shoulder OK? Then there's Cincinnati's Carson Palmer, last year's leader in TD passes. If he's 100 percent for the season opener, he could have an MVP season thanks in part to his pass catchers. And what about Ben Roethlisberger? The Pittsburgh quarterback is the only one not injured on the field of play. Some wonder how his play will be after his motorcycle accident. Personally, I think he will be fine. But one thing I wonder about is the fact he suffered a concussion smashing he head into the car's windshield. We know people become more supceptible to concussions after a first. It ended the careers of players like Troy Aikman, Steve Young, and Merrill Hodge. Camp ain't nuthin'. Let's see when the bullets start flying. As always, World Wide Design Studios made my banner.

2006 NFL Draft

Just when I thought I finished my latest update, San Francisco and Denver execute a trade in the first round, forcing me to go back to the drawing board. Fortunately, because of my recent changes, most of my work was done and the adjustments came only in the final third. So without any further delay, here's version 3.2 of my mock draft, or something like that.

Free Agency 2006

He went where? They signed who? Oh, that's a great signing! Those thoughts crossed my mind as I returned to updating the free agency scorecard for the first time in over a week. Naturally, with these changes, it will lead to changes to my mock draft. Click the link to see the latest moves by your favorite team. A few changes reinforce the fact that the New England Patriots will be a different team in '06. Change sometimes is scary, but there's good reason to believe head coach Bill Belichick and VP of player personnel Scott Pioli know what they are doing.

2005 NFL Draft

Damn trades. During the process of creating my second edition of my mock draft, word came out of the two recent trades. One involving Denver and Washington, and the other pairing Oakland and the New York Jets. End result is the Jets and Denver joined Buffalo and the New York Giants on the sideline. And I was so close to sending the second edition. Instead, I go through another round of corrections, some trade-related, while others because fresh analysis made a compelling enough argument to change things based a fact I might had overlooked. Whatever the case is, this is the final mock draft.
