Celtics '98 draft update:

The Lucky Leprechauns must have been out on June 24th, because the Boston Celtics were able to draft one of the top college prospects in the nation in Kansas' Paul Pierce. Pierce is a very talented player who will more than likely be playing the 3 spot for the celtics in this up and coming season. He is a player who works hard on his game trying to improve as much as he can. This is definately shown in his college numbers. His numbers in the categories of points, rebounds, and free throw percentage, have risen over each of the last three years at Kansas. Celtics fans are estatic over the new aquisition of this young player.

Paul Pierce Celtics '98 Rookie

Antoine Walker:

The latest on Antoine Walker is that he wants at least $105 million or he'll split. According to the paper he stated that if his contract is not settled by the end of this summer, he has no interest in talking to them.

My take:

I believe that the Celtics will talk to Antoine, but will not offer him a $100 million contract. They will wait to see how he does this year. If Michael Jordan retires, and the Dynasty is destroyed, then Chicago will be chasing Antoine. Being forced into a tough situation, the Celtics will sign Walker to his $105 million contract.

Walter McCarty:

According to Coach Pitino Walter has been the most productive in the off season. He has dedicated himself to making himself better and gaining wait. As of June 24th Walter had gained a whopping 14 pounds. Being back to his old weight at Kentucky. Pitino has said that he has been the most dedicated member of the team. This must be moving him above the rest of the team and giving him a shot at starting.

Dana Barros and Travis Knight:

Both Dana and travis have been working out and playing basketball in a pro/college league at the Contie Forum. Each of them is the captain of their respective teams.
