After losing the first game in pool play, the Maryland
Orioles come back strong to win 6 consecutive games and
find themselves in the Championship game of the 16U
USSSA World Series.
It's been 6
years since this team won their last National
Championship. The players were 10 years old and in
1997 they won the Dizzy Dean World Series. Since
that time most of the names have changed for both
players and coaches, but the commitment to "Excellence
in Baseball" is the same. In the past 6 years,
this team has been one of the most successful teams in
the region, winning every State and Regional tournament
they participated in. Twice in the past 6 years,
this team was the Runner Up in a National
tournament. This year, this team brought the 16U
USSSA World Series National Title back to the State of
Maryland and to the Maryland Orioles
Organization.
Mike Williams was named the tournament MVP, Aaron
Gabrielian earned the "Offensive Player" award and five
Orioles players were selected to the "All Tournament
Team". See the game summaries to see how they did
it. |
