How I Spent My Summer Vacation: Day 1

Thursday & Friday June 18&19, 1998

After 12 to 20 hours of travel (who knows with the time change?) .  Here we are,   let loose in the heart of London.  That's Picadilly Circus.

The buses , taxis, and subway were easy enough ways to get around, as long as someone knew which way we were going.  Hard to get used to them driving on the wrong side of the street. This also made walking around hazardous to your health because we kept looking the wrong way first when crossing the street even though they had a "Look Left" or "Look Right" sign painted in the street at each curb.

Made our way to Buckingham Palace but missed the changing of the guards.  We were on the go for about 36 hours straight.  We end the day eating and drinking too much at Football, Football, watching and .  What a long Day One!
