If only for a day

If only for a day

by Kenneth E. Martin

Come fold your arms around me and let me feel your heart, I shall sit there and listen to it beat and smell the sweet perfume, and get lost for a while, I am not asking you to shelter me or make the world go away those tasks are much to big to take on, but make a single day a place I want to be. Let me forget my troubles and recharge my will, regain the hope that seems so lost, or just so far away, share my world, if only for a day.

Bring with you the tenderness in your touch and put forth a hand for me to hold, look into my eyes and let me see, peace and tranquility, flash a smile when you look my way and bring me joy once again, touch my hair and bring the passion back to life, kiss my lips and let the embers spark. Listen to the silence and understand it’s a gift, Close your eyes and follow me through a lifetime of dreams, share my world, if only for a day.

Fly with me among the clouds as we drift into slumber, cling to me throughout the night, guide my words to touch your heart, and put your mind at ease, laugh with me at every fault, the fine lines there are not a flaw, talk with me and share my words, listen with your heart, not the quantity of time we share, but put its quality to test, look in mirror standing there, take notice of my face, share my world, if only for a day.

The withered lines of worry all have been replaced, our heart is pounding louder now, a glow is surrounding us, light beams from your eyes, a sweet melody fills the air as, Christmas time and toys, breath in the air and feel, purity flow, honesty trust and wisdom, sprout forth at his will, a door it partly opened , with love bouncing off the walls, think the special words, there is no need to say, share my world if only for a day.
