Pride of America Information

Pride of America is a program that is set up to honor and encourage young women who are academically accomplished. The program promotes volunteer work, community service, school involvement, and good academic standing. The state program awards a $1000 scholarship to the titleholder. They are able to use this scholarship toward any college of their choice. The national program awards a $5000 scholarship to the Pride of America titleholder, and a $3000 scholarship to the Pride of America Ambassador titleholder. I will explain the difference between these two titles to you.

During the finals of each state program, five girls are selected. These girls are asked questions by the judges and then the judges announce their selections. The girl that is named titleholder will go on to the Nationals to compete in the Pride of America competition. The other four girls are Ambassadors to the states title. They have the option and opportunity to go on to Nationals and compete in the Pride of America Ambassador competition.
