Since joining the league in 1987 the Eagles have been the dominating team.
With their first Grand Final apperance in 1991 against Hawthorn,the Eagles lost by 53 points.
In 1992 it was the day all Victorian footy fans had dreaded,as the cherised Premiership Cup headed West,safe in the hands of Eagles coach Mick Malthouse, Skipper John Worsfold,Norm Smith Medallist Peter Meatera and their West Coast teammates.Geelong were the villains of the peice,going down by 28 points,after the cats had led at half time.
In 1994 it was a repeat of 1992,except that this time West Coast gave Geelong an embarrassingly hefty shellacking,giving the Eagles A second Premiership.Dean Kemp won the Norm Smith Medal.
