All of this apparently came about after a heated argument between ECW Owner, Paul Heyman and NWA President, Jack Brisco. Following Heyman's announcement of pulling ECW's membership, Brisco went on a rampage.

Huge news in the world of wrestling as it was announced at 9AM Eastern Daylight Time that Viacom Sports has once again thrown their hat into the wrestling ring.
Viacom Sports officially showed it's involvement in professional wrestling this morning when Sumner Redstone himself announced that he personally was involved in the purchase of the National Wrestling Alliance and it's subsidiaries and World Championship Wrestling.
In a shocking developement, Redstone announced that the developemental contract for the failing Extreme Championship Wrestling was purchased from Time-Warner. This contract would also include the deal that ECW had made with Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (FMW) in Japan. ECW/FMW will now become members of the oldest wrestling alliance in the world.
This all comes as a surprise because in late 1998, Viacom vowed to never be involved in wrestling again after WCW was destroyed by the PWA in the now famous "ratings war". Redstone cleared the situation by stating that "WCW has a chance again and I'll be damned if I see my company go down to a group of amateurs in St. Louis!"
An official announcement will be made at WCW's upcoming Pay-Per-View, World War 3 on September 26th, concerning the ECW/NWA/WCW agreement and World Titles of ECW and the National Wrestling Alliance.
More on this story as it developes!
In other Alliance News: In a shocking turn, the NWA Board of Directors and Championship Committee have stripped Axel Hagar and Martin Bauer of the NWA World Tag Team Titles for failing to appear for 4 dates and appearing, with the titles, on the "PWA on Fox" show. New Champions will be crowned at Halloween Havoc in a one-night tournament.
That's all from the news desk for now! Stop in next time!
