Curtis Woodhouse arrived at St. Andrews just before the Worthington Cup final in a £1 million deal from Sheffield United with a reputation as a tough, committed midfielder with a tireless engine. Woodhouse fitted right in, with his endless running and commitment to the cause, winning him a number of admirers after his first few appearances. He is yet to find his best position in the Blues midfield and he has been used on either flank as well as in the middle. Nevertheless, it's a situation that suits him fine and Steve Bruce knows he can rely on him wherever he puts his name on the team sheet. He was Sheffield United's youngest ever captain during his time at Bramall Lane and has international experience to boot at England under-18 and under-21 levels.
