Our club has been located at Edenborough Park, Lindfield since 1975.
We currently have over 40 members with a range of ages varying from
12 years through to 75 years. We shoot target archery on the club ground every Sunday, clout, field and indoor archery at other club grounds. Our club mainly consists of members shooting recurve and compound equipment, but at times we have seen flat bows/longbows shot by members, and crossbows have been shot by members of other clubs. KuRingGai Bowmen conduct competitive rounds every week for its members and a handicap event once a month catering for all grades of archers. Every year KuRingGai Bowmen produces a club calendar and from the rounds shot weekly, ratings as well as records can be claimed. The rounds we shoot are rounds listed in the ASNSW Rule Book and members can qualify for State or National records at any club event as well as tournaments listed on the ASNSW calendar. Club championships are held towards the end of the year and many of our members are actively involved in State, National and even International tournaments. In fact one of our past members competed in the world archery championships in (date?) winning an individual bronze medal, and a team bronze medal.
KuRingGai Bowmen has many archers experienced in equipment tuning and maintenance, and with the many tuning and/or repair apparatus that the club has you are bound to be able to keep your equipment maintained. Plus our members are always prepared and happy to assist novices in maintaining their own equipment. Socially KuRingGai Bowmen is an active club and twice a year we have formal club dinners, however these are interspersed through the year with the sausage sizzles at the club ground. FeesBeginners Course * $70.00 for 3 weeks - equipment provided, New members joining fee of *$20.00 + Annual membership. Annual Membership *$160.00 for seniors, *$95.00 for juniors. These fees include sports insurance, affiliate membership of Archery Australia Inc./ Archery Society of NSW Inc., and unlimited event participation. The club has canteen, BBQ facilities, toilets suitable for wheelchair access, a Club newsletter and a twelve month event program. As you can appreciate, it is a very inexpensive way to try out this great sport. In comparison with golf - to hire golf clubs and pay ground fees it would cost you from $35.00 to $85.00 **per day**. Also for the first year's membership of a golf club is around $450.00 with the joining fee!!! Wow a sport that you can do all this for just $2.00 per week! what
a bargain! We hope that this gives you the enthusiasm to try you hand at this great sport and join us. After all we are often considered as the most social club in the state. * All fees and costs are current at 30 June 2004 (Fees and/or costs are subject to change at the discretion of KuRingGai Bowmen inc. without notice) |
