Our Story
Tiffany and I met while working as phlebotomists at Unimed Hospital in Minot, North Dakota. At the time, we were both students at Minot State University, Tiff was a fulfilling her pre-pharmacy requisites while I was working towards the pre-requisites to move on to Chiropractic school. Tiffany and I worked about 8 months together, mostly on opposite shifts but as time went on, we began to talk more and more as we saw each other at work. This is where the story gets hazy, at least to me. Now Tiffany would say that I asked her out first, but I know that simply isn't true. After repeated attempts to get me to rollerblade with her failed, we finally embarked on our first date. Needless to say it went well, followed by a second date 2 nights later June 1st, 2001. Six months to the day following that second date, we were engaged on December 1st, 2001. There were candles, a butterfly doll, and of course Tiffany and I. Even though she knew I had a ring, she was still surprised and cried.
Challenges lied ahead however, as I was to leave for Northwestern College of Chiropractic in the fall of 2002. Tiffany stayed behind to complete another year of school at Minot, at this time, we're not quite sure what her major was. It was a long year because of the distance and lack of seeing each other, but we managed to get great deals on train tickets and we did a lot of driving. Of course the wedding plans continued while we were apart, and with the help of family we were able to pull everything together for the wedding day.
August 22nd, 2003 was the big day. We had a short, but beautiful ceremony at St. John's Catholic church in Minot, ND. Most of our family and friends were able to attend which made the day very special. Our reception followed at the International Inn, with beautiful decorations and a great DJ. It was a grand ole party if I do say so myself. To this day that is the best day of our lives together.
Currently, Tiffany is attending Minnesota State University-Mankato where she is entering her 3rd semester of a 5 semester RN program. When is isn't at school, she works as a phlebotomist at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato, MN. She stays pretty busy with school and work and enjoys her time off, retreating to the comfort of the couch or playing with the dogs. I am now entering my 8th semester of the 10 semester chiropractic program. At this point, the majority of the classroom work is done with, and I will be spending approximately 20 hours a week in a clinic in Savage, MN learning everything I can about being a DC. Tiffany stands to graduate in May 2006, and I will graduate in November 2005.
Our future plans are unknown as we are still considering where to settle down and start a family and begin our careers. It is safe to assume that the next year and half is going to be a very exciting time for the both of us as we look forward to being done with school and starting our family and careers.
