8:45 a.m. Hijacked American Airlines Flight 11 crashes into the north tower of the World Trade Center, blasting a gaping hole in the building and setting it on fire.
9:03 a.m. A second hijacked plane, United Airlines Flight 175, crashes into the south tower of the World Trade Center and explodes into a massive fireball.
10:05 a.m. The south tower of the World Trade Center collapses, crashing into the World Trade Center plaza and the streets below. A massive cloud of dust and debris chokes the disaster area, turning lower Manhattan black. 10:28 a.m. The World Trade Center's north tower collapses, turning day into hellish black again. | ||||
