Victory Among Friends
HANOVER, Germany (AP) -- Friendship went just so far in the ATP Tour World Championship.

Alex Corretja lost the first two sets and then came roaring back to beat Carlos Moya 3-6,3-6, 7-5, 6-3, 7-5 in an all-Spanish final Sunday. Corretja's victory over his good friend in the season-ending event avenged his loss to Moya in the final of the French Open.

Steffi Graf may be near the end of her career, but she's hardly toothless
(Reuters) -- Steffi Graf, who will turn 30 before her next Wimbledon, is beginning to sound like Martina Navratilova near the end of her glorious career."Come on!" Graf cried twice last Saturday to make the ball fall her way during the Chase Championships semifinals, and both times the ball obeyed. Such power over inanimate objects is just one manifestation of how spectacular Graf remains as she ages. After playing only 30 matches from January to October while recovering from a series of injuries, she won consecutive tournaments to qualify for last week's season-ending tournament in Madison Square Garden, a showdown for the world's top 16 women.

Eltingh/Haarhuis is the Top Doubles team
HARTFORD, Connecticut (Reuters) -- Top-seeded Dutchmen Jacco Eltingh and Paul Haarhuis ended their successful doubles partnership on a high note by winning the season-ending $800,000 ATP Tour World Doubles Championship on Sunday.

The 28-year-old Eltingh, who had announced he would retire at the end of the year, paired with Haarhuis for a 6-4 6-2 7-5 victory over fourth seeds Mark Knowles of the Bahamas and Daniel Nestor of Canada. The Dutch duo captured their second world title, going undefeated in five matches this week.

Hingis wins her first Chase
NEW YORK, New York (AP) -- The No. 1 ranking was out of Lindsay Davenport's reach, but for Martina Hingis, who had not won a tournament in six months, these were the highest kinds of stakes.

"I was playing for my pride," she said. Beating the player who seized her No. 1 ranking, Hingis ended her long dry spell Sunday by capturing the Chase Championships.

Steffi Graf
Lindsay Davenport (before meeting Graf in Chase semis) -- "Sometimes it is great to kind of get back out there against someone that you recently lost to and some of the stuff is still fresh in your mind."

Steffi Graf (upon breaking Navratilova career prize money earned) -- "Such records show what you have acheived but they are not that important to me."
