Midget Majors
WELCOME!
The Washington
Little Capitals is a youth ice hockey organization involving players
predominantly from the mid-Atlantic/Chesapeake Bay/Tidewater region. Our
team competes at the Tier I-AAA level, which is the highest level of play
at the amateur ranking. We are registered with USA Hockey - Southeast
District and compete in the Atlantic
Youth Hockey League against teams in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New
York, and Connecticut. We also play tournaments throughout USA and Canada.
Midget Major classification includes players born January 1, 1984 to
December 31, 1985.
The Washington Little Capital's have former players
at all levels of National prominence. These include current NHL players
Jeremy Roenick and Jeff Halpern, plus players in Junior A and B, NCAA Division
I and III, all tiers of prep school hockey, and a player at the U17 USA
Hockey NTDP.
This year's Midget Major team is coached by former
NHL hockey player Nelson Burton (http://www.azhockey.com/Bu.htm
). The team has players that have achieved national recognition at
Hockey Night in Boston, won the International B Cup at the PeeWee Quebec
Tournament (http://www.tournoipee-wee.qc.ca/Que99-19.html),
and reached the semifinals at the USA Hockey Tier I National Championships.
Check out the News Bulletin on the left menu to
see the dates and the tournaments where this years's team is heading.
You'll find them at many premiere "invite" only tournaments, including
the Eastern Mass Labor Day, Marquette Electricians, and Hull Tournament.
