Latest Texas Rangers Happenings
The Rangers make big news by signing Free Agent Shortstop Alex Rodriguez to the largest contract in Sports History (10 years $252 Million), the Rangers also add Free agents Andres Gallaraga (DH) and Ken Caminiti (3B) to bolster an offense already featuring sluggers Pudge Rodriguez and Rafael Palmeiro. The Rangers look to contend in 2001 by being a pitchers worst nightmare.

The Champion New York Yankees add even more pitching by signing free agent pitcher Mike Mussina, while the Rockies sign pitcher Mike Hampton. Slugger Manny Ramirez signs with the Boston Redsox (8 yrs $160 Million).

Alex is perhaps the best all around player in the game today and is still only 25 years old. Alex has hit over 40 home runs each of the last 3 seasons and has already totaled 189 homeruns and 595 RBI's in his short career. If he can stay healthy, he stands a good chance of breaking many all-time records. Alex now takes his considerable hitting and fielding skills to the Texas Rangers starting in 2001.
