Chico Dojo is located in Chico Calfornia.
Our Mission
Chico Dojo Karate Club's mission is to offer quality training in Kobayashi Shorin Ryu Karate and Kobudo (weapons), a style from Okinawa, Japan. To achieve our mission each class is taught by a well-trained black belt instructor. We offer instruction to adults and children, age seven and up. Traditional Okinawan Kobudo classes are available to advanced students, they learn the katas and techniques of the Bo, Sai, Kama, Nunchaku, Tonfa and Eku weapons.
Chico Dojo is a small karate school with small classes. We take time to know each student individually. We work with each student to develop her and/or his own special strengths so that each may become a unique practitioner of karate. Our expectations and hopes are that each Chico Dojo student will train to her and/or his full potential.
It is our philosophy that the Karate student trains to achieve perfect form and technique, striving for excellence. Although perfection is nearly impossible to obtain, the search and working toward this goal is a true achievement in itself. The path the Karate student embarks on, in search of excellence, will initiate the search in other areas of their lives.
Monthly dues
initiation (1 time only) $30.00
individual $40.00 per month
family rates $40.00 first family member, $20.00 each additional family member

The Chico Dojo Karate Club is owned and operated by Mike Evans. Mike has been training in Shorin Ryu Karate for over 20 years and holds a 5th. degree black belt rank. Mike is fortunate enough to have many black belt students who also enjoy teaching. Each instructor shares their own talents and expertise, contributing to Chico Dojo's success.
