Hobbies

As of September 1998, I will be attending my final year of high school at Lisgar Collegiate Institute.  I live a pretty busy life, which includes many activities.

Running
I love running.  I run 4 or 5 times a week, usually covering distances from 25km to 40 km weekly.  I love running cross-country, for I have done that ever since grade 3.  I also love running track and road races.  I favorite distances include the 800m, 1500m, and 10 km.  I am not affiliated with any club.  I run on my own, but I enjoy running with some guys from Lisgar.

Karate
I was born into karate.  My father is now 6th degree black belt in Shotokan karate.  He is the chief instructor of the Ottawa JKA, where I am a member.  I have been training off and on for 9 years, but only since September of 1997 have I trained with any seriousness.  I intend on testing for my black belt in December of 1998 in New York.    OTTAWA JKA Homepage

Bowling
I started bowling in an organized league in grade 6.  I was involved in three years before trying other things.  I loved 5-pin bowling at Queensway Bowling Lanes.   There, I made the 4 Steps to Stardom team, and also won the in-house Buddy Tournament.  I go bowling now much less frequently than I would like, but I have a great time when I do go.

Drums
I drum with a passion.  Since March of 1998 I have been the source for the neighborhood noise from my basement.  My Pearl drum set might have cost a good chunk of money, but it’s worth every penny.  After being in Lisgar’s senior concert band since grade 10, I am currently in the midst of starting a duo with a friend from Lisgar.
