I have revisiting your site again. We have corresponded previously and you referred me to Connie Bird. I believe German Baker Rawlings/Rollins to be my 2xggf. He was b. in TN, the son of John V Rawlings and Sarah Hoover. With your help, I have been able to establish this potentail connection to a reasonable certainty. Texas Census records indicate that German could neither read or write and that may have been the source of the deviation of the spelling of Rawlings to Rollins. I have been able to pursue family lines into the Rawlings and Terrell lines as well as the Hoover/Huber line for very interesting research. Just found our Rawlings connection. It is John A. Hill married Mary A. Rawlings in Southampton Co., Va., 1832. John A. is in census for 1840 Southampton and 1850 Surrey. He apparently died in 1850's. Mary A. Hill with children is in 1860 Sussex. Our ncestor is son John M. Hill who is found in 1870 Southampton and 1880 & 1900 Greensville. He married Frances A. Brantley 1870 Greensville. If anyone has info on how this Mary A. Rawlings fits in with the Rawlings family, please let me know. Mike Lee, ynchburg, Va.

Enjoyed your page. My grandmother was Jennie Rawlins of Estill County, Ky. She seems to be the grand daughter of Benjamin Holladay Rawlins, son of John Rawlins and Nancy Holladay. If I'm not mistaken, this Benjamin H. Rawlins is burried at Chestnut Stand Cemetery, just outside of Irvine, KY. Anyway, thanks again

I'd like to know any info on his parents and where he and his family originally came from. From what 'd gotten, he came from either North Carolina or Virginia. His father's name is possibly John. Also, from the info I have, he was born in 1824 and died 1890. He had 4 other brothers to come with him to Georgia. Any info will be appreciated.

Yours is the most comprehensive I've seen to date! Now, if I could definitively connect my maternal grandmother's maternal grandfather, Charles Clement Vincent as the son of Richmond Rawlings's (son of William&Naomi) daughter, Amy Dugger Rawlings (wife o Nathan Vincent and adult-lifelong neighbor), I'd be very happy indeed. Everything points there but the boy just wouldn't list his parents on anything (so it's not on his 1896 obit either - he was visiting his daughter).
