The Inductees (so far)

Ajit Agarkar (Ind): Bob Holland did hold the record for most consecutive ducks but India's rising bowler, Ajit Agarkar, has leveled that record with five ducks in a row against Australia. If Agarkar gets a duck in his next test innings he will hold the record outright. Agarkar also equaled another record within his streak of five ducks with the first four (all against Australia) being golden ducks. This record of consecutive golden ducks Agarkar also has to share with Bob Holland. Incidentally the fifth duck was a second baller. Agarkar does hold one record to be proud of, the person to reach 50 one-day wickets the quickest!!! Inducted: 6/1/00.

 
Courtney Walsh (WI): Courtney Walsh, one of the great West Indies pace bowlers, to my knowledge has made 32 test ducks, a record. Unfortunately for Courtney he is still playing and can only increase this record of most test ducks!!! Inducted: 18/7/99 (Thanks to Robert Brown)

 

 

 

 

Geoff Allott (NZ): Geoff Allott holds the record for the longest duck. He achieved this against South Africa in 1999. Allott's effort took 77 balls and 101 minutes. Apparently he had the chance to take a few singles but declined them because they were trying to keep Chris Harris on strike. The previous slowest was by Godfrey Evans of England. Allott's average is around the 2 - 3 mark and has a high score of 8*. Inducted: 12/3/99.

 

Allan Mullay (Eng): For his in the 1998-99 Ashes tour where he made numerous ducks and nearly gave the record for most ducks in a series a shake. However in one match, at the MCG, Mullally managed 16 which included Australia's Glenn McGrath getting quite annoyed and a few words were exchanged. The 16 runs ended up been the difference between the two sides. Despite Mullally's bad Ashes form Allan still has a test average of around 6 and has scored a couple of twenties in the tour matches! His highest test score is 24. Inducted 28/12/98.

 

Glenn McGrath (Aus): For his form in the earlier part of his career where ducks were a feature of his scores. He struggled to score more than five. Now that he has been taking lessons from Steve Waugh he has been improving and can now boast a test high score of 39 and an average of around 5. However in the Ashes series of 1998-99 he still managed to get back to back pairs (four ducks in a row)! Inducted 28/12/98.

 
Bhagwat Chandrasekhar (Ind): Chandrasekhar is the player with the most ducks in test cricket. He played 58 tests for 23 ducks. He got a duck every 56.10% of the times he batted and has a test high score of 22 and an average of 4.07. The Australians recognised his ability with the bat and in 1977-78 presented him with a bat with a hole in it. Other great duck getters include B.S. Bedi on 20, D.L. Underwood on 19. Ian Botham lies 21st on the all-time duck getters with 14 at 9.03%. Inducted 29/12/98.

 
Bob Holland (Aus): Holland holds the record for the most consecutive ducks with five along with Indias's Ajit Agarkar. He managed the feat during the 1985, 1985-86 series against England and New Zealand. He has a high score of 10 and an average of 3.18. Nine players have made 4 ducks in a row including Australia's Mark Waugh. Inducted 29/12/98.

 

Sir Richard Hadlee (NZ): Hadlee has not been inducted because he has made lots of ducks but because he has bowled 66 batsmen out for ducks. Hadlee got 0.77 batsmen out for ducks per test. Next on the list is Kapil Dev (Ind) with 65 batsmen dismissed for ducks and then Imran Khan (Pak) with 62. Inducted 29/12/98.
