Kurt was never really one I paid a lot of attention to until one day during the 1995-1996 competitive season I was flipping through the channels and a skating event (or should I say skater) caught my eye. He was skating to Brick House and the outfit is what caught my eye (hey you have to give me points for being honest ;-) ) I could have kept flipping on to the next channels but I decided to stop and watch. I was fascinated by the footwork in the program and the way that he seemed to have the audience in the palm of his hand…he definitely had me hooked .
Over the years I have really enjoyed watching Kurt in any performance or routine that he puts out on to the ice for us all to enjoy (except for summertime…sorry, Kurt, but I can’t stand snakes be they real or imaginary) Through the years I have wanted nothing more than to meet Kurt and I do everything that I can afford to do to give myself a better shot at that. On December 12th, 1998, my dream of meeting Kurt became a reality. I won’t go into the detail here because I already went into detail on the page My meeting with Kurt Browning which you can read if you want to. I was told over and over again by people that have met Kurt that he is the sweetest person when you have the chance to talk to him and that he gives the best hugs of any skater and let me tell you both statements are the TRUTH. Kurt is a very Down to earth guy who takes his time with fans and makes them feel right at home while they are talking with him. If you ever are overwgelmed and brought to tears when you meet him, Kurt will do something that may not help at all he will probably try to hug you and calm you down which in most cases that I have read only made matters worse but he tries.
Kurt has decided not to tour with this years US tour of SOI :-( but he has come up with a cute program in which he plays the role of a clown. Many of his fans will tell you that this is not much of a stretch for him and I would have to agree.
