Overview
I began coaching at a young age with the hopes of advancing my knowledge in sports and allow me to not only be a coach but to be an innovator in the job field. I started coaching as a high school freshman, helping out with my elementary school team. I would have played at my school but my game hadn't progressed to nearly the level it would later. I began playing football at Belleville Althoff where in my freshman year I worked out at tight end and wide receiver but with the offense mostly grounded in the wishbone, I primarily saw action as a kick returner and tight end. I transfered to East St. Louis Lincoln to learn under Coach Jim Monken and play with that program. I was friends with the defensive coordinator at East St. Louis Senior High School Marion stallings who allowed me to attend their summer program and work under Bob Shannon who coached East St. Louis senior through several state titles under his watch. I learned a lot about the quarterback position under his tutledge and take a lot from that program with me. I played at East St. Louis Lincoln but wasn't as fast as my teammates running only 4.6 on a team where 4.4 is a norm. I played offensive tackle and center as a sophomore and moved to tight end and defensive tackle as a junior and senior. I used my opportunity to learn as much as I could from several great coaches including Damon Carter who was my sophomore head coach. I joined the United states Marines where in football I was nominated for several base All-star teams as I grew from my high school weight of 171 to a better playing weight of 220. I played defensive tackle and called plays as it allowed the head coach to work on our sputtering offense. I stopped coaching for several years to focus on life and returned to the sport in 2003 with St. Edward's High school where I coached offensive line and linebacker for the schools sophomore and freshman teams....The story continues.
