Next step was me getting CM2 97/98. I thought it was a great game, but by that time I could realise, that managing a loaded team, like MU is not too challenging, so I decided to take the team one of the worst teams in 3rd division and bring it all the way to the top. My goal was to win an Intercontinental Cup with Cardiff City in the shortest possible period! Buying players was sort of a problem. I got some great deals on players that were just randomly released by their clubs, for now real reason, Andy Dibble for example or Nick Summerbee or Tijani Babangida. They all ended up doing great for me and I won the trip to the Second division in my first year as a manager. By that point the biggest concern of mine was not to acquire new players, but to keep my star sweeper Lee Jarman, who was a regular Welsh international by that point. The only reason he stayed in my club was that the big clubs that had him shortlisted (Man Utd, Arsenal, Hamburg, Real Betis, Udinese) did not dare to approach for some reason, eventhough he had a Big Club Clause. Anyway, 2nd league was not too hard. Passed it in a year. The major highlight was my goalie Glynn Clyde getting to become a regular Wales International starter. I also acquired Nathan Lowndes, who became a great goal scorer(can't rememmber how many he scored:). I got to the 1st league through the play-offs and I got to the 1/4 Final of the League Cup. next year I advanced to the Premiership, finishing second in the 1st league, lost in the FA Cup final to Man Utd, who were the Champions, so I got to play in the Cup Winners Cup. I also acquired Jean-Pierre Papin on Free Transfer! Him and Lowndes ended up scoring a lot! Lee Jarman has the highest Avg. rating in the division and Glynn Clyde did a great job as a goalie for Cardiff and Wales. As a matter of fact, Cardiff has the best defence in England, for we allowed only 12 goals. Premiership was nothing but fun! We finished first and won the FA Cup along with the Cup Winners Cup and the Charity Shield.
