The
Continental
Divide
Mountain-Biking
Trip
2465 MILES FROM PORT OF ROOSVILLE,
MT
TO ANTELOPE WELLS, NM
JUNE 16 - AUGUST 29, 1999
If you have been following my web page, you
already know that during the summer of 1998
I
completed a road bike trip from Seattle,
Washington to Washington, DC, raising money
for
The Overseas Development Network and The
AmeriCares Foundation. On that trip, when
I was in
Missoula, Montana, I learned about a new
mountain
bike trail that follows the Continental Divide
from
Canada to Mexico. The more I thought about
a
mountain bike adventure, the more intrigued
I
became. So, when I reached Washington, DC,
I
told my parents that during the summer of
1999 I
wanted to cycle "The Continental Divide Mountain
Bike Trail" and raise money for another important
cause - Parkinson's Disease research! So,
click
away and learn more about this 2,500-mile
mountain-biking adventure. Find out about
my
personal connection to Parkinson's Disease
and
how you can help. Learn more about my sponsors:
Bell Sports, which is sponsoring me with
helmets for
the second year in a row; Yakima which is
providing
a state-of-the-art roof-rack system that
will
transport my mountain bike to Montana on
top of
my Ford Explorer and finally BOB (Beast of
Burden)
which is providing a Yak Trailer to transport
my gear
on this self-contained cycling trip. Look
up other
mountain biking equipment by visiting my
"Equipment" page, and don't forget, keep
on
pedaling!
