Rocket Recap

A lot has happened to the Rockets this off-season. With their new rookies, Micheal Dickerson, Bryce Drew, Mirsad Turkcan and Cuttino Mobley, the Rocks look good for next season. (If their is a next season, Damn Lockout) My opinion on the Rocks draft, I think they made out like thieves except for the fact they didn't draft the hometown high-schooler Rashard Lewis. What's worse is that he was drafted by the Sonics! (At least he wasn't drafted by the Jazz) All the rookies will fit in perfectly and compliment Dream and Chuck. But it leaves the Rocks with a problem, they now have three white point guards in Maloney, Price and Drew. Rudy T is pushing management to sign Rod Strickland and/or Tom Gugliotta. If Rod does land in Clutch City, either Price or Maloney goes. I personally hope if this does happen, Price gets the heave-ho. Why? He is a good shooter, but can't handle the rock when the pressure is on and can't play defense! Maloney seems more poised than Price. Now some info. on the new guys. Dickerson is a scorer who can create his own shot. Skeptics still talk about how he disappeared in the Wildcats title runs. Rudy T will take care of that. Drew, was unknown to many until the tournment started where he took Valparaiso farther than they've ever been. And no one can forget the clutch three he hit in the waning seconds of the first game. Turkcan, I still don't know too much about except that he sign for 1 million and is an agressive rebounder and scorer. He led the Turkish league in both categories last year. Mobley is a shooter like Dickerson, but that's all I really know about him. One last final thought, despite the lockout Rudy T is still coaching the USA team. You're giving one of the smartest coaches of all time a roster of young players from the CBA and Colleges. And you know Rudy T is never hesitant to dip into the CBA and put them on the Rockets and know he has a list of probably their best players. Hmmmmm.......
