• Only one person speaks at a time

• Wait to be recognized before speaking

• Chair should maintain control of meeting at all times

• A member may not speak a second time until all members have had a chance to speak

• The president and parliamentarian don't usually vote or participate in discussion

• Write a main motion word for word and then read it before turning it in to the chair

• The chair should restate the motion before calling a vote

• Voting is the most important part of this process

• Fairness is the key to it's success
