Thank you for logging on to our Website!
The Children’s Charities Tennis Classic, held at the Don Davis Tennis Courts at Walnut Hill Park in New Britain, CT, is one of the largest junior charity tennis events in the State of Connecticut for ages 10 through 25! The 28th annual event was held August 17-19,2007 and hosted over 75 players in 12 divisions! The tournament raised a grand total of $6,890.00 for Pediatric Child-Life programs at New Britain General Hospital, now known as The Hospital of Central Connecticut. Over the course of the past 28 years, the CCTC has raised over $95,000 for various Pediatric recreation programs at the Hospital! This year, the funds from the 2007 Classic will be used, in part, to help purchase decorative ceiling tiles for the Pediatric exam rooms, depicting cartoon characters and happy scenes. Also, to help fund The Pedi-Bag program, which gives in- patient youngsters, games, coloring books and other items to help them pass the time while in the Hospital. Other programs that will benefit include: Reach Out & Read and Books for Babies programs, as well as helping to purchase toys for the Pediatric Out-Patient Clinic. We are happy to state that 100% of all entry fees are given directly to the Hospital’s programs and, we are also pleased to say that our entry fees are one of the lowest in the State- $20.00 for singles play and $20.00 per doubles team! We are also able to raise money from the generous contributions of our Sponsors. A listing of our 2007 Sponsors is within the website. Our 29th annual tournament will be held August 8 -10, 2008 at Walnut Hill. If you are interested in playing or would like to become a Sponsor, please contact me at Donl7533@aol.com I would be more than happy to place you on our mailing list for 2008. Please feel free to browse the rest of our Website to learn more about the tournament. Once again, many thanks for showing interest in our tournament, we hope to hear from you soon!
Sincerely, Don Lukowski Founder & Chairman
