In the absence of anyone else providing updates that I am aware of. The following announcement is relevant to the players in the Northeast that are affiliated with the Northeast Region (Region 1) of the USAB.

Kirk Mellen, President of the region stepped down at the DC Open and has appointed for the interim Dudley Welch as acting President while a new committee is constituted.
Jan 2th 2002 It has come to my attention that Barb Kissick of the USAB Office has been let go.  While USAB may be struggling for funds I have personally found Barb a great asset to the sport and am distressed by the decision. Barb is conscientious and thorough and provides much needed support to Badminton organizers across the country.
