Ice Pilots Announce Affiliation with Tampa Bay for 2001-2002

On June 12, 2001, the Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that the Tampa Bay Lightning has become the first ever NHL affiliate of the Ice Pilots.  

The Tampa Bay Lightning organization is expected to help the Pilots on the ice and for recruiting.  Neil Hoyt, Ice Pilots Vice President of Hockey Operations, calls the Tampa Bay team a "first class organization."
