Here are the details for the Marshalls Cycles 2003 Mountain Bike Summer Race Series...
There will be a few more changes to our format this year, we will be having just three categories for adult men and ladies. FUN - this is for the real fun riders, fancy dress, bmx's, old people, dual bikes, etc. This will be just 1 lap for men & ladies and will not be run as a series. INTERMEDIATE - this is for the majority of our riders from the top half of last years Fun category, the bottom two thirds of last years Intermediate and the bottom half of last years Vets. This should be a bigger category than before and more fun to ride in. ADVANCED - this is for last years Expert, Advanced and the top half of Vets and top third of Intermediate. This will be a bigger category than last year and more competitive. The Series will be run over five races. There will also be an Endurance Race on the 14th September in teams of two. Note, all our courses are private and must not be ridden at any other time.

We now have details of the Marshalls Cycles 2002 Mountain Bike Summer Race Series...
This year we will be running a 6 race cross country series and a 3 race dual slalom series. there will be on the day prizes and the overall winner in each category will be the person with the most pont at the end of the series. Starting in May we should get the best of the weather and also more riders competing. We also have a new course this year at Upwick green, this couse has some fine single track, a small hill and a river.
We are also making a new Dual Slalom course for the series which will be open to club members at anytime and day tickets will be available for non-members at £3 for more information contact our Welwyn shop.

Marshall's Dual-Slalom Wednesday Night Race Series
To be held at our purpose built dual-slalom course at Benington Lordship (Map).
The Wednesday night race series will start on June 13th and will run for 8 weeks. The gate will open at 4pm and racing will start at 7:30pm sharp. Entries only on the day. Please register as early as possible.
The categories are:
Youth (10-12 years)
Junior (13-15 years)
Senior (16 and over)
Ladies
Points will be allocated to the top 16 in each category every Wednesday.
Prizes will be presented at the end of the series to the top three in each category.
Entry fee: Club Members £4.00 Non-Members £5.00
Prizes for the series winners will be :
Senior will win a Barracuda Underground Dual bike.
Youth, Junor, Ladies will win a Barracuda Dual Frame.

Due to the ongoing F&M fiasco Marshall's Cycles have had to reschedule the summer race series. The revised details are as follows:
Round 1 Sunday 6th May --- Tewin Water School, Digswell, Herts.
Round 2 Sunday 3rd June ---- Benington, Lordship Estate, Nr Stevenage, Herts.
Round 3 Sunday 1st July--- Tewin Water School, Digswell, Herts.
Round 4 Sunday 29th July ---- Benington, Lordship Estate, Nr Stevenage, Herts.

Regretfully, due to the Foot & Mouth outbreak the Marshall's Cycles Team Endurance Mountain Bike Race has had to be postponed until further notice. The Mountain Bike race series which starts on the 13th May will go ahead as planned. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Now in its fifth year and still going strong. Marshalls races series have decided to trade the mud for the sun, keeping our fingers crossed of course. I'm sure you'll agree we're a little fed up of the wet and cold! No changes have been made to the categories (Our system still knocks the socks of the BCF's), however we have reduced the entry fees back down to the original price. Whats more, you can make an extra saving by pre-entering all four races at once and save £5.00 off the total cost. (Sorry - this does not apply to PEEWEES or SPROGS categories)

Marshall's Cycles announce the Team Endurance Mountain Bike Race at Lordship Estate, Benington on the 11th March 2001 at 10:30am. The race will be run over 6 hours with 2 people in each team. You must complete as many laps as possible within the six hours. But there is a catch, each team member will have their own bike but only one pair of tyres per team. This means if you change riders you must also change tyres; not wheels, tyres. This will make the race more tactical and very interesting to watch.
We will have 3 categories - FUN MEN - SENIOR MEN - MIXED (1 lady, 1 man)
There will be some good prizes for the top 3 teams in each category.
