Footlocker South Regional
|
|
|
In the bitter cold, rain and mud of the McAlpine Park in Charlotte,
North Carolina, Jacob Buckman's outstanding cross country season
came to a muddy conclusion. Unable to get out with the lead pack because of his poor start,
Jacob floundered in the low forties for most of the race. The results of this race has left him
determined to strive for higher goals the next two seasons. Running at the Footlocker Nationals is
one of those goals.

Alumni Run
|
|
|
The rain stopped long enough for the 4th
annual Alumni Run to take place at Shively Park.
The alumni continued their winning ways in the team competition beating
the current team 23-38. The individual honors though were a different
matter, for the first time an alumnus did not finish first.
Jacob Buckman overcame pre-race favorite
Brandon Lesher(class of 96) and two-time winner Jason Filippazzo(class
of 96) to win with a time of 10:00 in the 2 mile race. The rain
returned shortly after the race to cause the cancellation of the
tennis' and spades' tournaments. The pot luck lunch was enjoyed by all
in relative dryness. The bowling was moved up to take the place of
the rain cancelled activites and everybody
had fun. Thanks to everyone who came and especially to
those who brought the food(it was very good).
See everyone again next year and hopefully those familiar faces that we
did not see this year will be back next year as well.
