JACK BUTCHER and His Lions walk off floor after capturing win #760 for him!!

The Loogootee Lions overcame the pressure of winning #760 for Jack Butcher with a 76-55 victory over Shakamak,tues.Dec.28th,1999.

This was a tremendous accomplishment for Jack Butcher,despite all the hardships he's endoured over the last 12-18 months.Look for an official adjustment to Howard Sharpe's record after January 15th,2000.This will show Jack really has been the winningest basketball coach for quite sometime.

The Lions broke out to a slim 9-6 lead after one quarter.The Lions steadly increased their lead to 37-25,early in the third quarter before Shakamak guard Travis Johnson caught fire to tie the game 43 all late in quarter.Lions thanks to a buzzer beating 3pt.shot increased their lead to 50-43 after 3 quarters.

The Lions became a very good basketball team in the fourth quarter, hitting 9 of 12 shots from the floor, while outscoring the Lakers 26-12 to claim the victory. Bradley capped a 33-point, 12-rebound performance with 13 points and six boards in the final period as the Lions finished a 64 percent shooting night with 14-of-19 shooting in the second half.

"We certainly didn't play any where near the way we played against the Hatchets, and that's very disappointing," Butcher noted. "But Brett Bradley just simply played a tremendous basketball game and our kids got him the ball whenever we needed to."

Jeffers added 13 points, while Ricky Lyon tossed in 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Kevin Downey finished with 10 points and five boards for the Lions.

Johnson finished with a team-high 29 for the Lakers.
