Katie Smith ended her 24 day holdout by signing a 2 year contract with the ABL and the Columbus Quest. She averaged 15.8 ppg. She also led the ABL in 3 pointers made (91). Katie spent the summer in Colorado playing for Team USA, she was named a core player for the USA National Team. She's going to compete in the 1998 World Championships. She was a starter on last year's All Star team, has again been chose to start for the Eastern Conference in the '98 All-Star game in Orlando, Florida, she will also participate in the 3 pt. shot contest. While at Ohio State, Katie set nine records during her career and lead her team to the Runner-Up spot at the 1993 NCAA Championships. She finished her career with 2,437 points (leads the Big Ten). Katie was also a Two time Kodak All-American ('93 & '96), USBWA First Team All-American ('96), and a Gold Medalist for the '96 Jones Cup Team.
SHE made the US olympic national team BUT is unable to compete because of her ACL injurie ;p she WILL be competing on the us olympic national team!!!!!!! She is going through rehab an will be back in action once she is done with rehab! You will probably see her in the WNBA playing for the Minnesota Lynx's! yaaaaay!
