Who is this Guy Anyway?

I once heard Henry B. Eyring, a former president of Ricks College explain how his professional path was decided. Forgive me if I get some of details wrong. His father, physicist Henry Eyring, is known for discovering the steady state theory in chemistry. After following in his father’s footsteps through a physics degree at the University of Utah, little Henry was continuing his studies at Harvard. One day, the elder Eyring, working at the time in the chemistry faculty at Princeton, asked his son a simple question: "Do you think about physics in the shower?" The answer to this question led the young man to complete an MBA and later a Ph.D. in Business Administration at Harvard. I won’t elaborate more, just suffice it to say that statistics is something I think about in the shower.

I don’t want to go into any elaborate detail of my own qualifications, but I do have a B.S. in applied math with a minor in physics, an M.Stat. in econometrics, and expect soon to have a JD with certification in federal tax law and environmental law. More importantly (though my wife wishes otherwise), I love sports and as stated elsewhere in this site, I may not be any good at playing anything, but I’m really good at watching.

That’s probably all the information you want to know. But in case you’re interested, the other important facts in my life are that I have a wonderful wife and the three cutest kids in the world, and the Gospel is true!
