A summary

Everyone has watched a hawk or eagle effortlessly soar above us; gliding through the air easily and gracefully, rising with the air currents. Man has always dreamed of matching this feat and soaring in modern sailplanes gives us a way to soar like the hawks and eagles. Today's sailplanes can fly for hours and cover distances that are unbelievable to the newcomer. Come join us and begin living your dream of flying like a bird.

MGC is a nonprofit organization run efficiently thanks to those devoted members who volunteer as instructors, tow pilots and wing runners.

We fly on the weekends and Holidays only.

"Megido Gliding Center" is located near Afula city in the mid southern area of the Galilee which lies in a big flat valley called the Izrael valley, surrounded by mountains.

Our airport has a paved 2.4 Km runway running from west to east.

Here in Israel we have 4 gliding clubs where "Megido Gliding Center" is the biggest.

We have 87 members in our club with the following fleet:
