FESTIVUS MAXIMUS!

Invictus!! The Ravens beat the Giants 34-7 in Super Bowl XXXV in Tampa, FL. The Ravens had a legitimate shot at a shutout until the Giants' Ron Dixon ran back a kickoff for a TD.
The Ravens scored on a Brandon Stokley reception, a Jamal Lewis run, a Jermaine Lewis kickoff return, a Duane Starks interception return, and 2 Matt Stover Field goals.
I'd show some pictures I took, but somewhere between Tampa and home I lost the memory card for my digital camera...
I'll post some more XXXV comments and other stuff after I get over the shock of losing all my pictures. Thanks for stopping by.
FESTIVUS: When the Ravens began thinking playoffs were within reach in late November, Coach Billick said the team needed to stay focused on each individual game and not look ahead. He banned the players from using the word "playoffs," even fining those who did use it.
Taking a clue from a Seinfeld episode in which George's dad creates a holiday and calls it "Festivus," the fans & players began using the word "Festivus" instead. As the Ravens clinched and the p-word ban was lifted, the Festivus motif stuck. The team's goal became "Festivus Maximus" - Super Bowl XXXV.
The Ravens beat the Denver Broncos 21-3 in the first round for a victory in the Ravens' first playoff game ever. Then the Ravens beat the #1 Seed Titans by 14 points in their own Tennessee backyard in the second round. They capped off a wonderous AFC playoff run with a victory over the Raiders in Oakland, led by Shannon Sharpe's 96-yard TD reception - the longest in NFL post-season history.
The Ravens allowed only 165 points, breaking the 1986 Bears record of 187 allowed in a 16 game season.
