Well, interestingly enough UD2 is the exact opposite of UD1. UD1 has some really ugly jersey cards and some great Young Guns RCs. UD2 on the other hand has some horrible Young Guns RCs but some awesome jerseys.
The problem with UD2's Young Guns is that UD1 took all the good names. The only rookie left for the second series was Nikolai Zherdev, otherwise most of the rookies are very anonomous. Boyd Kane, Rositslav Stana, Pat Rissmiller ... not huge names at all. Most often instead of being thrilled with a Young Guns pull, you'll most likely wonder "Who the heck is this?"
But the jersey inserts are a lot nicer. There are the Signature Threads, Rookie Threads and Memorable Matchups cards that are great and cool to pull. The quality of the jerseys is much, much higher than from the first series.
My box was simply jaw-dropping. The very first pack had a beautiful Sundin patch! About halfway through I ended up with a pack that had two jersey cards stuck together. And then one of the final packs had the two-color Sundin jersey! Four jersey cards when I was only expecting two, that's just a great set of pulls. The Young Guns weren't much, but there wasn't a whole lot for them to be. And who can really argue with four jerseys? :)
Basically it works like this: if you like Young Guns RCs, go for UD1. If you like jerseys, go for UD2. If you like both ... well you gotta buy one of each...
