LONG MEIGEALL FARM
Lunenburg, MA
January 19, 2006 - The latest additions (2 bucklings) to the farm were born on January 15, 2005 at approximately 5:30PM. This was one of the coldest days of the winter. With the temperature at 11 degrees and the wind blowing at 22 mph the windchill was at -3 degrees. January 15th was also the day of the Wolf Moon. The Wolf Moon is the January full moon as named by some Native American tribes. This prompted their names of Wolf Moon and Pipinoukhe (Algonquin God of Winter). Both kids and dam (Airabella) are doing well.

January 2, 2006 - We can now officially name our homestead a farm. We brought home the long awaited Nubian does (Airabella and Hazee Moon) who are both preggers. Airabella is due January 14th and Hazee Moon is due April 1st. Both have settled into their new home nicely. The name Long Meigeall Farm is twofold. Meigeall is Gaelic for goat's beard. Therefore, the name is essentially Long Goat's Beard Farm. This works out well as our last name is Long, which could also make the name: Long's Meigeall Farm.
