Allied Against the Opposition was co-founded on September 1, 1999 by Greg Odendahl,
and Steve Utych in the wake of the disestablishment of the Pro-Voltec Alliance aka
The New Alliance. This break up was for no reason, but did lead to the establishments
of AAO, MORS, and BEST. All of these alliances still exist today. TDP was also
created, but no longer exists.
For a short time, BEST, AAO, and TDP made up one huge alliance as counterparts as
part of an idea of PVA charter member BigFoot. He was also cofounder of BEST until
his departure in late April, 2000.
After a couple of weeks, AAO felt this was just turning into another PVA that was
supposedly broken up to make room for new alliances, and left the partnership on
October 12, 1999. We did walk away with a new member though in David aka Mr. D aka
Dr. M. He was the first non-co-founding member on October 3, 1999.
Barry Gomoll aka Bartolo Gonzalez became the last AAO Charter Member on October 30,
1999. AAO was now 4 members strong, but not in much activity except the successful
revival of Barry's 1-on-1 career as he was making a come back at the time opf his
arrival, and helping bring up David as a better manager. All of this was done
WITHOUT sharing the stats. This is severely frowned upon by the AAO, and any
AAO member accused will face the possibility of immediate termination from AAO.
On November 6, 1999, AAO got involved in the first Alliance Wars. On December 11,
the regular season concluded and AAO was third with a 7-11 record. MORS and BEST
were ahead, with TDP behind.
December 18 was the playoffs. AAO was swept by BEST, and MORS swept TDP. The
Championships were on December 25 with TDP being swept by AAO for third, and BEST
getting the 2-1 upset win over MORS for the Championship.
On May 20, 2000(yes, time went by), the regular season of the first Manager Wars
ended. Steve finished last in the Southeast division. He won one overall battle, and
won 13 individual games.
David got first in that same division winning 8 overall
battles, and 35 individal games. This gave him the 1 seed overall in the South.
Greg got first in the Southwest division. He only won 7 overall battles, but got
the same 35 individal games. This gave him the 2 seed in the south.
Barry finished second in the Northwest division with 6 battles and 27 games under
his belt. This gave him the North's 3 seed.
The playoffs began on May 27, 2000 and Barry was the only member of the 3 playoff
qualifiers without a bye week. He defeated Freak Show, the 6 seed, 3-2 to move on
and play the North's 2 seed, Ace.
On June 10, Greg was upset my Marybeth, but Barry prevailed against Ace(June 17),
and David defeated Mr. Strong.
During the conference finals, Barry faced defeat against Don 4-1 going into the for
third battles, but David won the rights to play Don with his 4-1 victory over
Marybeth.
Then, Barry beat Marybeth for third 3-2, and David is currently down 1-0 in the best
of 3 series against Don with his 3-2 loss on July 1.
AAO gained new members on June 2, 2000. These were the first
non-charter members of AAO. They are PoeGough and 2can.
Also around this time, AAO began the establishment of a cash cow program. The AAO
Cows are put in a pool up for grabs for any AAO Member.
More brain storming is currently taking place to better AAO.
Barry Gomoll leaves the alliance and joins NMA.
