D Eric Brewer - GM Mike Milbury said he was so lost on the ice that Brewer looked like he was "sniffing glue." Well, that may have been a silly statement, but if it describes how lost Brewer looked out there in his sophmore season then it was dead on. He finished his rookie season on a strong note, but looked terribly out of position early in the 1999-00 season and was sent to Lowell. Brewer got hurt in Lowell and missed a large part of the season, but the Isles are hoping he will have a good playoff. He is still a big part of the Islanders future plans where they have him slated as a top 4 d-man. He needs to work on his competetiveness and add some emotion to his game. GRADE: D
Eric Cairns - Came into his own and became a steady defensive d-man in the 5th slot for the Isles. He had his best season offensively as well with 2 goals and 9 points. Eric also became the premier physical presence in the Islanders lineup and was tops on the team with 196 PIMs.Tom's Hockey Trivia
