Whenever Martin is on the ice, menace and mayhem are sure to fallow.  His disruptive style of playbreaking played a vital role in the Red Wings championship repeat. And so did his 2 game-winning assists and one game-winning goal. Martin played with the Laval Titains for four amateur season and scored 338 points in 195 games. He was named to the first All-Star team in the Quebec Major Junior League in 1989-90 and to the second All-Star Team in 1990-91. He was first choice by the Red Wings in the 1991 Entry Draft, and saw post season action with the Adirondack Calder Cup Championship team in 1992.  He made his NHL debut against Toronto in October of  '92.  He had an assist in his NHL playoff debut on April 26, 1992 against Minnesota. Martin also played in the 1995 NHL All-Star Game.  Martin amassed his career best of 33 points during the 1996-97 season. He followed that up with a new career best of 34 points with 15 goals and 19 assists during the 1997-98 regular season. In the post season, Martin scored two power play goals and one short-handed goal in the St. Louis series. He had playoff game-winning assists against Phoenix, Dallas and Washington. And he scored the game-winning goal against Washington in the final Stanley Cup game.  He scored 9 goals and 6 assists for a total of 15 playoff points to help his teammates keep the cup in Detroit.  In the off-season, Martin and his wife Tania and son, Guyot return to his hometown near Montreal.  Martin stays in shape by lifting weights and enjoying other summer sports.
