Patrick started playing tennis at the age of five years old.  He got involved in tennis because of his three older brothers.  Pat loved to be around his three brothers, and whatever they did, Pat would want to do it too.  Pat love playing different types of sports, but tennis is always to be the main one.

Pat Rafter is one of my favorite all time tennis player because of his style and athleticism on the court.  Outside the tennis court, Pat is also known to have a great, friendly personality.  Before Patrick came from a family who did not have much money to help him become a professional.  But with his talents and by the help of  the Australian Tennis Federation, Pat became one of the top tennis players in the world.  Now, earning thousands of dollars every tournament . . . (professionals plays about ten tournaments a year), Pat uses this money to support his family.
 

Patrick is currently ranked number 4 in singles and number 11 in doubles.  His highest ranking is number 3 in singles (September 8, 1997), and number 10 in doubles (August 18, 1997).
His fastest serve in 129.3 m.p.h.
Pat is a great athlete because of his speed  and power on the court.  He is very consistent on his shots and his techniques.  He has a calm temper on the court, and I think he is one of the best role model for today's junior tennis players to watch.
