Scott Witkowsky

& his OFFICIAL fan club

That is right ladies and gentlemen, as of 12:26 pm eastern standard time, March 4, 1998 Scott T. Witkowsky made us his Official fan club.

Well the 4 years has come to an end, but does that spell the end of the fan club? No yet! Now we all know that deep down we will admire Mr. Witkowsky for the rest of our lives, but I think we all want his basketball career to continue. Look to this page in the next week or so to find out how you can help make it come true, its your FINAL MISSION so to speak..... -Bob Edinger

On April 8, 1998 Scott's older brother, Brian Witkowsky, claimed his rightful place in Scott's ever growing fan club. We just wanted to welcome him here.

Round #3 (Sweet 16) Temple, L 84 - 72

Scott vs UNC
I looked over the tape again today so I could report on Scott's performance. He was brought in at the 11:27 mark the first time, score North Carolina 21-16, and he left with 10:03 left in the first half, 23-16. The score remained the same despite many starters resting. In the second half he was brought in with 15:16 left in the game, score 51-44 leaving at 13:09 with the score 55-46. Simply put he helped PSU increase its lead. Now Big Scott was brough in to slow down the Senior Center Brendan Haywood who had these stats

for the game: Points: 13, Assists: 2, Rebounds: 13, Blocks 4
With #45 in: Points: 0, Assists: 1, Rebounds: 4, Blocks 0

On of those 4 rebounds was after a quick Joe Cripsin shot with no teammates back, and one looked like he PUSHED Scott in the back, because Scott had position (No foul called, but I have it on tape) So I only credit Haywood with 2 rebounds over Mr. Witkowsky.

Scott made a CRITICAL DIFFERENCE IN THE GAME!

Now for the other news... The Rebound that wasn't.

SCOTT HAD A REBOUND THAT HE WAS NOT CREDITED FOR. It took place at the 14:30 mark of the second half. The ball came down, Scott grabbed it, a North Carolina player(#40) began to knock it out of his hands, so Scott smartly shoved it off to Tyler Smith... Should be a clear rebound, even BOTH the announcers, thought so Jim Nantz - "Witkowsky comes out with... squeezes it out to Smith." Billy Packer - "AND there's that bench coming up with a VERY important rebound." I checked today's box score and there was a goose egg in the reb. column next to Witkowsky.

TRAVISTY!

Who can we call to correct this.

Scott vs. Temple
Ok let me just get this out of the way. I think if Scott had played more than 30 seconds, the out come would have been different. I think we needed a larger body to move some of the Owls out of the post. But it was a great season and a great run, so we may learn to live with it... Someday.
Here it was just one game earlier and a just a few lines up on this page I was complaining about Scott not getting credit for a rebound against UNC.... so with only 30 seconds left in the game, Scott made the most of the moment and Pulled down his NCCA tournament rebound... Kick Ass Highlight.
