Noster Vir Catullus
Omnibus Temporibus

Gaius Valerius Catullus fuit clarissimus poeta Romae.
The purpose of this site is to introduce students of Latin to Catullus,
the Republican poet and contemporary of Marcus Tullius Cicero and Gaius
Julius Caesar. I have created pages that deal with his life and contemporaries
as well as his poetry. A student who is enrolled in Advanced Placement
Latin Literature can research the Roman poet and find information about
him and his poetry. For each of the poems, I have included a template
for the student to use as a work sheet for understanding the content and
meaning of the poetry. In addition, there are links on the life of
Catullus page which provide more information about our poet. Caveat:
Some of the content of this site is not suitable for lower level students
of Latin!
Click any of the links below to find out more about our man.

As far as we know, there is not a sculpture or portrait extant of our man
Gaius Valerius Catullus.
