THIS PAGE IS ABOUT PRESERVING PRISTINE BEAUTY,THE SOUTH POLE, MY RELATIVE SHACKLETON THE EXPLORER, AND YOU AND ME PRESERVING NATURE. IT MIGHT BE THE THE POLAR CAPS, AUSTRALIA AND ITS OUTBACK, IDAHO OR YOUR HOME TOWN. WE NEED THE EARTH TO SURVIVE.LET ME SAY HELLO NOW
Hi, my name is Christine Shackleton.I am a direct relative of Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton and share his interest in exploration of pristine environments. Ernests son Edward Shackleton(recently deceased) was involved with the Falkands [Ernest his father was buried at Georgia which is near to the Falklands, the South Pole and to South America].Besides his usual role of Governor there, Edward was also involved in the recent and unfortunate war on the Falklands, which South Americans call by the beautiful name of 'Malvinas'. I am glad to say that the South Americans take a keen interest in the preservation of the Falklands and the surrounding districts including the South Polar area and their navies often come to aid of lost yachtsmen and the like. They as well patrol some of the worlds most beautiful remote areas. Here at Beagle Bay in South America you will find a beautiful little post office which is the most southern post office in the world outside the South Polar Post Office. The Falklands still remains British territory.

from the bottom of South America is one of the 'wonders of this world'. Ernests son Edward sat in the House of Lords and was a world recognised geographer. The three of us share a love of the wild beauty of the environment and especially its preservation.{{CLICK HERE FOR VERY GOOD ENVIRONMENTAL SITE }} I am a trained educationalist in a number of areas and I hope everyone will get a better understanding of why its so important to look after the wild animals and beautiful areas that are disappearing so easily and quickly. Why, if you live on the Bronx ((clik now to VISIT WITH MIDDLEHIGH NY AS THEY UNCOVER ICE AGE IN MANHATTAN))<.... is it important to look after these wild places and animals? My answer is that if you look after these places, animals and plants they will in their turn, and in the long run, help you to survive. I hope that one day you can visit these places and see why we need to protect them. I tell you that people must look after the animals and environment for mans future survival on earth. The earth can slowly rebuild itself without people but people need the earth to live on. They cannot live without the earth. As I build my web page I will invite you to different parts of Oz [Australia] and other parts of the world. Perhaps its worth a cursory look at a site which I just found and which when you scroll down it enables you to look around the Antarctica by the references and search engine. This site is by no means the beginning and end of my view. But lets start somewhere. The site is "CLI
CK NOW here......... " Or just type 'antartica' into "yahoo search". [nb antartica is spelt antarctica-but searches respond to both names] and this site will come up in the search http://video.ngv.com.tw/stuff/7068e.text. This is a very American site[but in chinese] and among its discussions are places pristine or just plain beauty. The author is obviously someone important and has a great deal of knowledge about places , including USA and the National Geographic Society. Edward Shackleton was head of the Geographic Society and in this way linked to National Geographic.
ERNEST SHACKLETON EDWARDS FATHER AND THE EXPLORER WAS ALSO SECRETARY OF THE SCOTTISH GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY AND YOU CAN GET A GOOD HISTORY OF SHACKLETON THE EXPLORER SHOWING HIS CIVILIAN HISTORY FROM THE US MCMURDO SITE. BUT REMEMBER THAT AT THE AGE OF TWENTY SIX WHEN HE FIRST APPLIED TO GO ON AN EXPEDITION ERNEST SHACKLETON HAD FROM BEING A BOY OF FOURTEEN IN THE NAVY WORKED HIMSELF TO RANK OF A FIRST CLASS CAPTAIN OF A NON NAVAL SHIP AND ONE OF THE YOUNGEST CAPTAINS OF HIS DAY.
