My name is George F. Ortiz Former Major League Scout and
President of the Puerto Rico Baseball School Inc. Our School has 39 talented players
players attending different Jr. Collage across the United States.
At this moment the school is operating a pro-baseball camp; with
the aid of professional baseball instructors, all of them with ML experience. This camp
begins training in Puerto Rico, which I selct the best sixteen (16) players, and then we
travel to San Pedro De Macoris, Dominican Republic, were we work hard for 10 days, in an
intensive baseball training program, which is at a Major League Level.
Im a former Major League Scout of Giants, Twin's, Red's,
Pittsburgh, and Angels, I know that a lot of prospects are lost or left out of the draft
and these players can be develop to their peak condition using your programs and the
program that also relies on the summer league of the Dominican Republic, which is as I
said at a Major League level and compared with Japanese Philosophy Clubs.
As you may know the summer league of the Dominican Republic allow
two (2) puertorrican players in each pro team; also I was supervisor of the Angels for
several years amd was part of the working program of San Pedro de Macoris ,DR.
For the past several years my baseball school program that I had
developed on which several amateurs players travel to different parts of USA and the
Caribbean.Once they get to their destination they begin they begin several days of a hard
training of baseball techniques and fundamentals.Several professional instructors are in
charge of these camps.
Our last trip was to the Dominican Republic, on which I
accompanied a group of 20 puertorrican players. They participated in a Major League
baseball camp at the Japanese Complex Hiroshima Toyo Corp. This is located at San Pedro de
Macoris.Several Dominican Instructors spent days teaching them the fundamentals and
sharpening their skills.
These camps have proven to be helpful to several of the players
that had been awarded with scholarships for USA collages, and some of them even had signed
pro baseball contracts. Collages like Fort Scott Community Collage, Wallace State Jr.
Collage, Laredo Jr. Collage, and Blinn Collage, are some of the Jr. collage who have
benefited from this program, also, the California Angelsmy former club, benefited from the
program too.
